When: Saturday August 19th at 7pm
Where: Aspire Repertory Theatre (11030 8th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125)
What: I've been invited to take part in Aspire Rep's very first Creators' Series. This is a showcase event in which all types of creators (playwrights, composers, choreographers, etc) get to display 3- to 15-minute excerpts from longer works of art in front of an audience.
I will be putting on an excerpt from my play We Forget To Remember. This is an experimental play involving several of my favorite women from Greek mythology (Clytemnestra, Cassandra, and Penelope). These ladies are stuck in a purgatory in which an amalgamation of all the Greek gods (who is also a toilet) forces them to constantly re-enact moments from their lives.
I will be co-directing this piece with the insightful Nicole Lockett, who is also one of my talented actors. We have assembled an all-star team of performers consisting of Patrick Tolden, Christine Choate, and Shana Emile.
